FULL VIEW PLEASE OH PLEASE!!

I'm really and honestly satisfied with this. And since I don't want anyone to burst my bubble on my love for this piece, I discourge any critique. Which as the description says: "There's a number of reasons why you might select this option. Perhaps you consider the submission to be complete and will not be making further changes on it. Perhaps you feel very sensitive about the submission and would rather not have it dissected by user comments. Whatever reasons, selecting this option indicates to the deviantART audience that you would prefer not to receive critique-heavy comments for this deviation." - So yeah. Just put opinions on the piece as a whole, don't pick apart details on this one. I don't plan to go back and change anything.

First piece I've done since Sakura really. I've not had a chance to do much art lately with my mother having surgery and having to take care of the baby. Tonight though I was finally let loose to be able to stay up late and sleep through the night finally after 2 weeks. No more midmorning feedings for me! Yay! Anywho. I sat down and finally decided to do something. I've been wanting to do an underwater piece since... forever. The seascape picture was just retarded in my opinion.. I knew I could do better. So I got to cracking.

FAQ on the piece: (Will update as seen fit with questions)

1.) Did you use the blur tool to do the background or other details? No. Normally I will use a blur tool to add a softer touch to some areas of pictures; however, in this piece I don't believe I used it even once.
2.) If you didn't use the blur tool then how come the coral in the background looks blurred like it's far away? Because it is far away. Also, I just used the airbrush to do that portion and used my pen really lightly to do it.
3.) Did you use any references for the plants and fish? Yes and no. 95% came from my mind solely. I did google to help myself with some lighting techniques and some little details like something to do with the ridges on the seahorse. Otherwise, my odd brain pulled this out. Somehow. I love the sea. ^.^

Wow, this is probably my most favorite thing you've done. I have much love for the faint and far-away fishies in the background and the cactus-y type plant on the far right. Also, wonderful job on the shafts of light. I believe it's actually filtering down through water. Very lovely.

For I am older than you. I am older than your Gods; the Tree Gods, the Stone Gods, the Thunder and Lightning and the Sun Gods -- and your God of Love. I too can love, but with only half a heart and that I offer you.
Hehe, that plant was the first one I added and probably the one I liked the least :P And yay! I really conveyed the lighting good in this? I've was practicing on my lighting a little with this piece. :D

Thanks bunches XD

...That is so beautiful! It reminds me of those Christian-whatshisface paintings I loved as a kid. I love the lighting effects, especially. Wonderful job!

Life can be as bitter as dragon tears. But whether dragon tears taste bitter or sweet depends entirely on how each man perceives the taste. :moo:
Yayyyy! I'm so glad you like it! And I have no idea who you're talking about, but being compared to someone in the professional sense is flattering :D
